This was the first Tim Powers I read, a long time ago, in French at that time. I have since re-read it several times and it is always a pleasure. Like another b0ok about gates & doors I'll probably re-read soon, every time I appreciate the writing, the plot and the different characters. This was not the first Powers ever written but it s the one that got him so well known and for good reasons.<br/><br/>Highly recommended.
