Passion play

The Passion Play or Easter pageant is a dramatic presentation depicting the Passion of Jesus Christ: his trial, suffering and death. It is a traditional part of Lent in several Christian denominations, particularly in Catholic tradition. Many Passion Plays historically encouraged antisemitism by blaming Jews collectively for the death of Jesus and led to pogroms and other violent acts against Jewish communities, especially in Europe.
