Jane Harrison (born 1960) is an Australian First Nations playwright, novelist, literary festival director and researcher. A descendant of the Muruwari people of New South Wales, from the area around Bourke and Brewarrina, Harrison is the grand-daughter of noted Aboriginal shearer William "Deucem" Smith. She grew up in the Victorian Dandenong Ranges with her mother and sister, and began her career as an advertising copywriter. Her best-known work includes Stolen which received critical claim and has toured nationally and internationally, and more recently The Visitors. Source: Wikipedia (en)
