Bliss

"Bliss" is a modernist short story by Katherine Mansfield first published in 1918. It was published in the English Review in August 1918 and later reprinted in Bliss and Other Stories. Katherine Mansfield was a New Zealand-born writer who lived most of her life in England. Although she died at the age of 35, she was a well-known writer of short stories. In a time of few women writers, Mansfield exercised a passionate women’s voice. Her use of symbolism perfectly fleshes out her plots of human emotion. Source: Wikipedia (en)
