It is now a suffragan of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Modena-Nonantola, though historically it was long subject to the Archdiocese of Bologna. The bishop's episcopal seat is the Cathedral of San Donnino Martire, in Fidenza. The diocese has a Minor Basilica, the Basilica di San Lorenzo, in Monticelli d'Ongina; it was assigned that honor on 9 January 1942. Source: Wikipedia (en)
