Jacky Liew aka Liew Cheng Lan, was born in Malaysia on 03 August. He has affectionately known by his penname Shi Gongzi or Sek Gongzi (Cantonese). He began his career since 1988 and is the first person known as food gourmet in Malaysia. He is the most influential Chinese food critic in Malaysia and one of the prominent food critic of all time . Among the titles he possessed are "Malaysia Food Critic" and “Food God”. In 2002, he worked as the Lecturer of Today Agriculture College and advisor of the college journal. In 2008, he received the Pingat Masyarakat Cemerlang (Social Service Excellence Award) from the 10th Yang Di-Pertuan Agong, Malaysia (The Highest Ruler/ The King) and been the first Chinese writer who called into the Palace. In his notable work "Truly Nyonya Malacca" published in 2010, he introduced the concept Malaysian cuisines comprises of 3 social classes and 5 main ethnic groups. Source: OpenLibrary
