Monografia (z gr. monos – jeden; grapho – píšem) je spravidla vedecké dielo, publikácia alebo aj časť publikácie, kde je komplexne spracovaná jediná téma, spravidla úzko špecializovaná či vymedzená. Monografia má obyčajne viac ako 50 strán. Slovenská legislatíva považuje za monografiu prácu s rozsahom aspoň 3 autorské hárky (1 autorský hárok zodpovedá 36 000 znakom, teda asi 20 stranám s 30 riadkami). Monografia má charakter vedeckej práce, ktorá vznikla na základe skúmania daného problému. Obsahovo sa málo líši od dizertácie a po doplnení formalít môže byť monografia chápaná ako dizertačná práca.
